Don't need to wait a year.  Give the cards 6 months.  In mean time look to some local credit unions.  Call them and explain your situation to loan officer.  See which ones are bk friendly and when.  There will be cu willing to work with bk folks local to ou.

What is the hurry?  You have 3 credit cards to use now, and they pay for things just as easy as unsecured ones.    Credit building takes years.

I suggest increasing the deposits, so you have bigger CL on your report when you do apply for unsecured.   It helps sometimes, never hurts.
