Ah ok. I thought you were actually saving money somehow. Still a great trick!

Basically, you select some items and add to cart. You then select the checkout button. On all three, I selected "guest" vs creating an account. Once you enter all your personal info, like address, email and phone number, click "continue or checkout" at that point you will receive a pop up. From what I've read, it will be a SP if you're approved.
IIRC, the only exception has been so far for Total Rewards, even though it will be approved, it still ends up being HP.
+1
haha...I do that too!! Just to see what I can get preapproved for. I haven't bit yet though (I've had my Express and VS cards for years now)
Congrats! I just found out about the shopping cart trick and I have been pre-apporved for
HSN $750
VS $500
Avenue $250
Buckle $250
The last 3 in the last 2 days! You guys are AWESOME!
Do you know what other stores have pre-approval? I want Lane Bryant, Torrid and Total Rewards
any of these do the pre-approval?
Have been trying for the last couple of days ... and nothing yet.
Can anyone get the shopping cart trick to work for True Value Discover Card?
I got this to work at Sportsman's Guide for a $5k limit on their Visa on a SP.

Just a reminder. You are killing your AAoA for tiny amounts of credit. SP rather than HP is good, but only if the card is worth getting (or if you get a useful CL)
