Back in Feb this year I wanted a new sofa set, so I walk into LazyBoy and pick something out.. notice they have a 0% / 12mth offer. I apply and get the card, begin making payments, no big deal.
I logged in late August to make a payment and noticed I was "enrolled" in ebill. For some reason I thought this meant autopay (i was in a hurry) and went about my business. Last weekend I looked at my bank details and notice i'm missing a GE payment. Scrambling, I log in and realize the mistake I had made the week before. My due date was 9/7 and I was logging in on 9/9, obviously late now. So I make my payment, confirm I'm enrolled in autopay, and hit the phone line.
The guy on the phone spoke perfect English, and was able to reverse the $25 late fee and said I had nothing to worry about, which made me uneasy because I was wondering what he really was capable of as a CSR, you never know right? I thanked him and hung up the phone. Today, I just looked at the cut statement, everything is in order no mention about the 2 days late and my payment is right in step with all the other statements/payments.
Bullet dodged, and I thought i'd share a positive GE experience.
It says in the agreement 60 days will violate you...which I thought was generous, didn't know that it was a law.
I'm just happy to avoid the 30 day late, talk about stress. 2 days late and bam credit ghetto for 7 years.
Don't think that they can put 30 day late on report if not actually 30 days late, can't do it for 2 days late.
