I have gotten 4 GE backed cards in the last 2 months. Walmart, Lowes, CareCredit, and Smartconnect. I don't know if there any limit, but I think I'm all GE'd out for now, there are no other cards backed by them I need.
No such thing as too much GE
I wish GE opened up like...a regular bank (like Cap1,Chase,BoA or something). I would move everything I have to them cause they're so nice.
GE didn't ilke me much during my recent app spree, but I'm going to win them over! I had a Care Credit card that I got two years ago, with a nice $3,000 limit. I applied for Old Navy and WalMart last month, and was approved, but only for $200 and $400.
I made purchases immediately with the cards, and have since paid in full. GE reports FAST though, so my Old Navy card hit my credit report showing 96% utilization! That should update in the next couple days, so I'm waiting to see the effect on my score. I'm going to try for a CLI on that one sooner than 4 months, as $200 at Old Navy isn't going to go very far with the holidays and cold weather shopping coming up!

I was actually going to start a thread on this but maybe you would be able to answer my question....
I need to get Care Credit within the next few months (for surgery) and I wanted to know how long I should wait before applying. I just got approved for the amazon $1200 CL. BUT I'm new to credit and only have the FP secured card(open since july) and from what I hear is horrible and doesn't help anyway. So technically I only have the one GE Amazon.
I wasn't sure if I should open another GE store card and use both for a few months, then apply for the care credit, or if having too many open would hinder me getting approved for it. What do you think?

If you only have 1 cc and it was opened since July, try waiting 6 months since the date of application and go for care credit in january.
You can risk it and apply now but it will hurt your chances.
They are very good and on the day you apply try to call the backdoor and request a recon for a higher cl. Mine was sp cli but some people report hps for care credit cli so ymmv.
thanks for the reply. Thats what I'm thinking. I was hoping to reapply around Feb. I'm hoping for 5k+ CL but doubtful
I've opened up 4 GE accounts in a 3 month period. All were approved with no problems. I do wonder when GE starts having a problem with opening multiple accounts in a short period of time.
