i posted the other day about getting a CLI with my American Eagle card issued by GE. i had originally requested a $750 increase and they denied and countered with $250. i was happy to take that but i have a ?. i received the letter from GE stating the reasons they wouldnt give my original $750 increase. the reasons were high balances, derogotry information. they went off their last SP which was on 5/31. since then, the deragotory info has been removed and all the balances have went to 0. so i called the number on the letter to talk to an U/W about maybe doing a new SP so i could get better CLI and then they would have a more Accurate CR. the U/W i spoke to obviously didnt know what they were talking about b/c he stated they dont do SP CLI (which we all know is NOT true) and that no matter what it is always a HP. so i was thinking of calling again on monday but i dont really know who i should call and talk to. what do you guys think? should i just leave it alone?
I just called underwriting for gecrb 5 mins ago and she said its only soft pull for cli.... i think you should try calling again since theyre still open

ok, so i just got off the phone with a cool dude who knew what he was talking about. but the convo still left me a little confused. he did state that CLI request are only SP but he told me that when i called in for my CLI they looked at my Credit report right then. i tried explaining that the letter they sent me stated that the SP was from 5/31 (according to the letter). i had asked him if we could do a new SP but he told me they would have done one on 7/31 when i requested the CLI. he said they do not go off of a "back dated" SP, BUT thats exactly what the letter is saying to me. from reading the letter they last did a SP on my CR on 5/31 and thats what was used to base their decison off of but according the the CSR it should have been a new SP dated 7/31. so im a little confused but i just may let it go and call back in a couple months. what do you guys think? am i missing something here
well, at least you tried calling....my dad requested a cli last june for his jcp card and the one they pulled was from May.... give it a month or so and ask again, maybe it'll be a different result.... besides, it's only a soft pull... or do it weekly, just to annoy them.. lol
