For GE backed cards, should I have a zero balance when I request a CLI? Right now I have 800/1800 on card. I've paid off the 800 but it hasn't been fully processed yet.

opened 11/2010 CL 1k - 04/2011 auto increase to 1k4. 

i just called last week balance was 400/1200 CL request to 6 K they count 4k2 ok fine i accepted it

I find it is easier to figure out your cli with ge cards if you have 0 balance. They dont ask what you want your new limit to be. It is always "how much more do you need for your next purchase..." then I have to do math. XD
