Well, I called GE on my Sam's Club Discover for a CLI and used the automated system.
CLI ffrom $3500 to $6000
Was encouraged, and called on my Walmart Discover which is only 4 months old.
CL was at initial CL of $3200 (not a bad start for Walmart). Decided to go for the gusto and ask them for $6000 as well. Got a 7-10 day message, but a counteroffer of $5200. Snatched it up right away. I am sure I was being greedy and the account is too new. We will see what the 7-10 day letter says.
All in all, I am happy. A little shy to try my JCPenney just yet. Maybe next month. Then again GE is ALWAYS a soft pull from automated system, right? If I get told no, there is no harm. Would someone please verify?
Also closed out my NY and Co Card. Toy mall limit of $350 that was probably doing more harm than good by bringing down my average. Never used it after the first purchase. I can't think of any downside to this. I already have a mix of credit.
Congrats!
Those are some nice limits
I'm hoping for some WallyWorld love too once my 4th statement posts in a couple weeks.
We shall see!
Well, I broke down and asked JCP for a CLI. I was conservative and asked to go from $2300 to $3800 (a $1500 increase). It was approved. I don't know why I am worried about getting the 7-10 day letter. I think it is a hangup from when I got denied all the time. Things are so much better these days but I am still expecting the rejection in the back of my mind.
@crouching_numbers
I think your credit profile is past worring about CLI from GE, I think you are good.

I guess. It is just hard to believe. I think I will have more confidence when Merrick and Cap1 fall off and I can't see them on my reports anymore. And when the debt is down further so that I am not so hungry to get the CLI's higher to get the overall util improved. I am confident that then my FICO will shoot up. (well, I have one baddie left too)
