GE Care Credit

I'm wanting to apply for Care Credit.

So far i've learned to ask for a higher limit as they typically counter with a low limit.

I also hear they pull TU.  Has anyone been declined for Care Credit and if so, what was your score at the time of the denial?

Also, if approved with a lower score, what limits are being offered.  TIA.

Re: GE Care Credit

I applied for Carecredit three weeks ago. I asked for $9k. I think my score was round 760 to 770 w/ no inquiry.

In my younger, less responsible days (about 4 years ago), I had to have my wisdom teeth extracted (all 4) under IV sedation. Being a poor student, I applied for GE Care Credit with no appreciable income and was approved for $1500. I'm guessing my score was low 600's at the time. The interest rate was extortionate, hence me closing the card in 2010.

A few months ago I was around the 650 mark and was approved online for around 2k and I immediately called credit solutions and asked for 5k and they countered at 3500. The veterinary place offered six months interest free w care credit but it is a deferred interest plan and I think 23% after that

Re: GE Care Credit

I applied for that one a few months ago because my vet takes it and so does my dentist. I was instantly approved for 5k which now I wish I had asked for more for utilization purposes. I have no intention on ever paying interest on this card as all plans are to be able to pay for the unexpected mostly with my 5 animals. My vet offers 18 months deferred interest on anything over 200 so it works for me. I have been warned though to follow through with deal or else suffer the shockingly high interest. I have heard the same nay sayers with BML too though and I honestly love my account with them. They were my first credit line in a very long time and I ALWAYS pay on time and follow the rules. I also hear care credit is one of the easier cards to get and they are backed by ge whom I have had a positive experience with as well. Good luck Smiley Happy
