GE acccounts upgrades

HOw offen you you use your cards and how old are the accounts? I have Sams and Dillards and Chevron I would love for them to upgrade

It's a bit murky when it comes to being upgraded.

I had a Sam's GE back card for several years and maxed out the CL to 10K for the in store and couldn't get them to issue a Discover upgrade on it. I ended up going in and applying for the Discover one and got it right off the bat and less than 6 months of monthly usage it was up to 10K to match the in store.

When you upgrade you convert your existing account and a new account willl show up on your CR and kill your AAoA if it's not high to begin with.

I think they have some internal coding / scoring system that gets applied when your account is issued that determines your eligibility of an upgrade in the future.

My Walmart card was upgraded to a Discover after about 9 months. I used it 2 or 3 times and PIF between purchases. I believe I started with a $600 limit and, within that 7 months, it climbed to $3000.

Walmart started off at $600 in October 2012, upgraded in June 2013. Used maybe 3-4x during that time period. Current CL $12K

IIRC, Chevron does not upgrade, but the others seem to UG at random intervals. I'm hoping for UG to my Wally, but mine is only 8 months old.
