GECRB Paypal Account Closed for late payment days

I had a Paypal account that was closed in April 2008 because I forgot to pay it for 90 days, but when they called I paid it. They closed the account anyways. I wanted to apply for a Walmart CC, but I see that they also use GECRB. Should I apply for the walmart card or will they just deny me for past delinquencies?

More than likely it may not result in an approval but your results may vary.  The old account may still be "fresh" on their database considering the 2008 delinquency timeframe.  On the upside, you paid it off.  However, the only way to find out for sure is by applying to determine whether a cross-reference will trigger the PayPal record.

Some folks have had success over time with GECRB from their last known CO or delinquency when re-establishing a relationship with that specific store or any of their other related entities.

I think you'll be approved assuming no other recent deragotory items on your credit report.  Over four years and you paid?  I think your fine.  GE gives second chances, they pretty much have to to stay in business.

Re: GECRB Paypal Account Closed for late payment days

I discharged a GECRB Men's Wearhouse card in BK 11/2009.  Applied for and received instant approval on Walmart Discover (you just apply for Walmart, the "system" decides whether to give you the store card or Discover).  They pulled only TU which I had few INQs on at the time.  Received my first softpull CLI last month.  So I would try the Walmart card.  I haven't tried the Mens Wearhouse card since I BKed it.

GE 2008 is different then the GE of today... You should have no issues getting a Walmart Card if the account in 2008 is paid off... you could probably get a PayPal card again too.

I agree with the others here try for the walmart card, if you get approved then try for the paypal account.
