Gardening is so peacefull.... you dont have to worry about what everyone else has. You don't have to worry about your current score. You don't have to worry about your current limits... All you have to worry about is paying the billYour score gets to grow while all you do is sit back and relax!
Oh yes, I absolutely agree. I have to say that any app itch that I had a few months ago has really settled down. Once I started focusing on the cards that I have and enjoying my current set of rewards, it helped to take my mind off of what else is out there. I'll worry about that later this year, but for now, I'm really enjoying watching my current crop of cards age and grow. ![]()

I'm done with HP-CLI's, not that I've ever done one yet... but it's just not worth it, maybe some day after I've had a mortgage and a car and all that, maybe.
But my Freedom can damn well stay at $1,400 for eternity.
At least for now, it's not the time to be taking additional INQ's on the off-chance they might give me an extra $500, which in the grander scheme of things, $500 is nothing when compared to my overall CL's.
Auto-CLI, SP-CLI's, or nothing.

That's a good number to be at! Congrats!!! ![]()

Hi fellow gardeners!
I'm now officially on garden duty for at least 1 year. I had an inquiry from a rental house this month, so I went ahead and hit the Barclay luv button even though I didn't think I'd get it. Unfortunately, I was correct but only because my other cards haven't yet reported April's activities (paid off 6 cards in full.) But that's that. I figured the hard inquiry in the same month as the rental would be okay since they'll age the same and disappear within 10 days of eachother.
After some poor decision making in 2004-2006 I had terrible credit. Most of it has been cleared up now, just a few more battles to fight.
I evidently didn't learn my credit lesson and opened a bunch of accounts in 2009-2011 and they've been close to maxed out. However, I've paid off 8 of 12 accounts as of the end of April and have a buget that will allow me to pay off the remaining 4 cards by mid July of this year. Once they are all reporting $0, I'm giving several cards the axe.
My goal at this point is to garden for at least a year and then reevaluate my creditworthiness and hopefully get into a prime card or two to replace the subprimes I have now--at least the couple I leave open after my axe spree. Then it's more gardening in preparation for a mortgage in 2014.
My motivation is a better life for my son who will be born in May.

OH , and at close to 50k in TL so I am happy well worth the HP for me.
Don't take my earlier post as a critique on what you did, by the way. As they always say here, YMMV and every situation is different. If it works for you, then go for it.
I'm just saying, for me, I'd be hard pressed to take a CLI for an HP at this point of my life.
