INQ's affect your score the most for the 1st year If I remember your case you applied for card twice denied ? IMO I would garden 7-9 months and then apply after your scores rebound from all the hits/INQ's
EDIT Chase likes to see around a yr of history for approvals
INQ's affect your FICO score for 1 year and then they do not reflect on your score. They are not removed from your file until 2 years.
Back again, still seedling, but really can't imagine needing anymore credit at this point. We are starting our for real garden today, so hopefully that will be a tangible reminder of this part of the journey.
I did have a nice talk with my teens about buckling down and focusing on getting our house purchases paid off, so they have joined me in that mode, which is wonderful.
I also noticed EQ has a few errors (Cap1 not reporting since last Sept???) so I need to get back to focusing on ensuring my reports are accurate and as clean as can be. I still have a negative TL reporting (Santander from when I did a dumb thing and let my adult DD assume my payments when she bought my vehicle from me) with 5x 30 day lates. These are over 2 years old now, so probably not much impact, but being an overachiever, I'd like to see them gone, gone, gone.
Checking in this morning to grab my silver before work.
Yay!

ah ok will do guess im gardening til next year of marcg or the end of the year
Nothing new for me. In fact, I have run all but 6 cards down the shreeder! Did not close the accounts though.
It just becomes too much to manage!
Still hanging tough in the garden... Possibly leaving to get a new auto loan at some point this month... but only if I get an offer I can't refuse!
Might swap (PC) my Amex Unicorn, but not if I have to pay the AF on PRG immediately!
Good morning to all!. Spring has sprung! My April 2013 scores are: EQ 758, TU 780, EX 788 (Experian Equiv.) I have a gold spade, now at 6 months in the garden. My reports show my last late over four years ago, no coll., no public info, longest opened account 26 yrs 11 mos, AAOA 9 yrs, and over 20 total accounts. I have found that allowing only 2 cc's, plus my mortage and 2 auto loans to report a balance that I have received my highest scores on My Road to 800. Good luck to Each of you!
One more week and I get my Silver Spade!! Woo Hoo!!!!!
Another month in the garden goes by. I have successfully fought the itch to ask for a CLI on my BoA 123 Cash Rewards Visa. Honestly, I don't really need a CLI because I have other cards with higher CLs for when I need to buy something big. Everything is still on track for a mortgage.
