Grats Tinu! Long time comng!
Easy on the weed Ray, it might make you go on an app spree LOL !!
LOL - I will take another look at things this month. Really, I would like to get to 5 cards...
I am in hopes to go over 800 this month. I think I will be close... If so, and the fact that I / we have no debt, I can kill the $5k cards.
Can you imagine, killing the new Discover IT before it even arrives!
I KNOW that you're referring to a credit score, but the first time I read that, I saw something different....
- okay - the credit score! LOL
Ray is like the Chuck Norris of credit apps. He tells FICO what he wants his score to be; not the opposite.
He has baller status in the FICO ranks
Another month gone by in the garden. Everything is blossoming nicely after 13 months app-free. No CLIs this month and there was no need to cancel any cards. Everything is still on track to look for a mortgage in 2013. Hopefully, everything will be well into the 700s club by then. :-)
Steped out but should have done it about two weeks before balances updated. Ex score dropped to 727 so I didn't get the best rate. Live and learn.

I am new to all of this and am starting on repair like a maniac. I have struggled with whether or not to app for a better card (low to mid level) just because all three of my low limit cards are sub prime. But I am thinking that what I actually need is to worrk on getting my util. % low, getting some baddies off, and put a good chunk of time into good payment history and account maturing. I am making the goal to not app for anything until Feb 2013 at the earliest. By then my credit score should be significantly better and I can work at getting out of subprime hell.
So at least six months of gardening for me! I look forward to actively keeping up with you guys now that I've joined the garden. :-) Happy Gardening!
Yes, you've correctly identified the things that you need to be working on. I was stuck in subprimeland for much longer than I should have been, mostly because I didn't understand about util and AAoA. I'd use the cards up to the limit, and even if I paid the statement balance every month, it still reported a large balance relative to the CL. Then, if another subprime issuer sent me an offer, I'd jump on it just to be able to add something to my portfolio. But, if I tried to apply for a prime card, I was shot down, and until I found these forums I never really understood why. Eventually I became discouraged and allowed lates to creep in, etc... It's taken a long time, but my mess of a credit report is finally starting to look like something respectable, and it's largely due to following the advice on these forums.
So yes, let your garden grow! Take care of you new accounts, and with time you will become attractive to prime lenders. Welcome to the club, and best wishes on your credit journey!

Let's do it! KILL all cards with $9,999.99 or less CL. You in??? We talked about this in another thread...
LOL then I wouldn't have any CCs.
Me either.
