Re: Garden Club Meeting - January 2012

Greetings,

2011 was a good year. Added 4 new accounts in December, 4 CLI's, soft pulls. Two declines, recons unsucessful. I sat down last night to look at all my accounts..and I have a total of nine cards. It's a bit much I am finding out aleady. Luckly, half of the cards are SD. My goal is to garden until Dec. 2012. Knowing my addiction to these boards, I froze all three credit reports on Dec. 30th. I app'ed for BoA just after to see if it was working. I got the 30 day message, unable to make a decision at this time.

Freezing the accounts is going to go al ong way to helping me stay app free this year.

My last month in the garden club. I am going to go apping in February.

Here is my current profile.

Cap 1 No hassle cash rewards platinum. 500 CL, 16% util, opened July 2011.

Two student loans. BoA currently 3,500 balance, 11,000 original loan amount

US dept. of Education currently 4,900 balance, 5,500 original amount.

No baddies on any of my credit reports.

Planning on apping at the beginning of February for the Discover more. Waiting until next month to make sure that the large payment I made towards my student loans is reflected on my credit report before I app. I am expecting to get approved. They have only been mailing me pre approvals weekly for the last 3 months almost. I have only been holding off because I wanted to give my current card 6 full months of history, now waiting an extra month to make sure my payment of 1,400 towards a student loan is reflected.

I do have my cap 1 credit steps increase to look forward to this month hopefully. I just paid my 5th statement a few days ago. Expecting that bump from 500 to 750 any day now. Smiley Happy

Good luck with the Discover app! You've set a goal of allowing your current card to age and report history, and now you're getting to the point where you're ready to add a new one. This sounds well thought out and it makes sense. Once you get it, you are welcome to come right back to the Garden Club and allow your seedling to age. I hope that we get to see you around here again soon after!
