Just dropping in to pick up my Platinum spade!

No ETA on when I plan to app again, it hasn't really been on my mind since my last GCB check in June. Though I just got a pre-screened offer for a Chase Freedom card - so that must mean I'm coming up in the world!

Re: Garden Club Meeting - January 2014

Hi Everyone--

Took weekend to spend w/DD before returning her to campus.  Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Yes, I used my day pass, and I'm now the proud owner of a Barclay Arrival WMC, or at least, I will be when it comes in the mail.  So, my garden stint begins again.

In the interest of full disclosure, I foolishly went for the CSP first knowing full well I would have to recon because of Chase guidelines.  Two recon attempts went nowhere, which is fine.  My first thought was to go for the Arrival, but a little voice said my history with Chase is much longer.  The Arrival will fit my spending habits better than the CSP, and I like not having to consider categories, since it's 2% across the board.

I have a meeting tonight that will run late, if I'm not too tired I'll stop by later, when I imagine this month will be over 700 pages.

Oh Focused! If you want help finding them, please feel free to PM. My husband has access to a ton of resources through work and may be able to help make a connection. I'm sure he'd love to help, cuz he's that kind of guy. Smiley Happy

Thanks Wade.

I'm getting a sinking feeling I know what this is after looking up some things.  I thought all GE cli requests were SP.  I didn't think to check if this was true across the board but for all that I've seen so far it had been so I went ahead and requested a cli online for my Care Credit card because we pay 200/month for chiropractic care and my cl was only 1000 and if e pay in full at chiro, we get a 20% discount and I have zero interest financing with CC for 12 months.  I think they did an HP and from what I just read looking it up after the fact.  Seems like others have had that experience with CC back in 2012 too.

The cli was declined though.  I don't know why CK is listing is an airline cc but it was reported on the same day as I requested my Care Credit so I'm wondering if that's what it is.

And having said that, I'm feeling really discouraged.  It's felt like forever being in this seedling stage and I was finally getting over the desire to app and was motivated to start getting the spades.  My scores were going up, my uti was going down, and I felt I was doing really good

Now I just feel really blah and am wondering what is the point.  I don't know if I can handle going back to day#1 after I've been so intentional about making it through three weeks today without even thinking about any type of apping or hp-related decisions.

On top of that I had an argument with my DH so that just doubles my frustration and wanting to just run for the fence and jump.

OOOOOOOOO NOOOOOOOO i have heard that one is a HP Smiley Sad(((((((((((((((((((((

we all make mistakes please be strong and hang tough.

You are doing good and you have our support.

Yeah I know but this mistake just seems so unfair.  I really had no clue that some GE accounts did HP and some didn't.  Anytime I've ever talked about GE people have said SP.  It wasn't even worth it to me in the least bit.  To have to go back to day#1 after three weeks of being so strong because of something this stupid is just too much for me to handle right now.  I just am not in a good place to stick around for that at this point....

Maybe try GW them for a removal of the hard pull, considering that most of their CLIs are soft pulls. It's always worth asking. Smiley Happy

Re: Garden Club Meeting - January 2014

Hey folks,

Hope everyone is being good in the garden. AMEX PRG arrived today, was impressed by the materials that came with it - looks perdy too. Was able to order my wife her authorized user card, change my Member since on the PRG and BCE to 2011 (wooohooo backdating from Australia). Only thing I didn't manage was to get chip & sign which was a little inconvenience but fortunately I'm not travelling overseas for a while yet.

So all in all, pretty happy with the 1 EX pull result from AMEX - AAoA skyrockets from 6 months to 2 yrs 2 months. Looking forward to seeing the score bump. Oh and excited about 61 day CLI - opening date is 24th Jan, so 25th of March I'll be going for the full 3x to get a big boy limit Smiley Very Happy.
