Am happy to finally be bronze My score has increased quite a bit and interestingly both CO and WF have increased my limits without asking... so I must be doing something good! Also, a CA reached out with a settlement offer which I paid, and they handsomely rewarded me by completely removing it from the report altogether (which I did not ask). Yay for that, too.
This is the highest my score has been in years so even though it's still labeled "bad" I am really happy. In a completely different place than I was a year ago. All I have left to deal with is two medical collections I would really like to get rid of. As far as new credit, it's not needed as I am happy with my secured cards and have a car loan and student loan.
I plan to cut my utilization down to 17% in Feb so in March am expecting a little increase in the score again. Will check in in Feb to stay connected!
Congrats with your progress thus far! It is really something to be happy with!

So after speaking with her who has excellent credit (above 800) I asked her for help. Since I have a thin line of credit she said she would/could add me to a few cards with high credit limit but no balance. She very responsable when it comes down to credit.
So my question is what are the right step to take to make sure this happens, so it can appear on my credit reports? Also, how many points will it give and will it help my AAoA? How many cards one, two or maybe three?Generally you'll see the TLs appear on your report at the next statement cut. All they need is your name.
Points is tough to say, but it will help your score. If she has had the card(s) longer than your AAoA, it will help that, too.
I'd say do all of them, but that's between you and your wife.
Yeah it will make your file and score look better! But remember some lenders dont use the AU's .... Good luck

Same here New Guy
My out of town meeting was canceled, so I'm around a little bit today. So, checking in. Now, to go back a few pages and see what I've missed. This thread is always active, but this month even more so. I guess a lot of people are in out of the weather and glued to their computers. Hope everyone is safe.
