Re: Garden Club Meeting - July 2012

Time to get my gloves on and start gardening. Far too many inquiries to get a second card, so this thread is my moral support. Starting today 6/30/12 no more apps for a while. Smiley Very Happy

Re: Garden Club Meeting - July 2012

Good morning boys and girls.

It's the first of a new month, and I'm on day 25 in the garden.

I don't really have a firm application date, just have lots and lots of inquiries, and my utilization is too high, so here I am.

Re: Garden Club Meeting - July 2012

It's my 1 Year Anniversary of being in the Garden!  I've been app-free since July 2011.  In the past month, I closed my Best Buy RZ MC, since the AF was due and I no longer need to pay such things (Hooray for increasing scores!)  My only remaining card with an AF is Cap One Platinum, which I'll hold onto until next year since it's only $36/yr and the $1800 CL isn't too bad.  I called Walmart Discover for a CLI (which is soft because they are run by GECRB) and they declined.  Darn.

Meanwhile, I've been working on TU to get them to accurately report my student loans, because they were purchased by another lender who expunged my baddies from my other two reports.  They say they have been reporting to TU for the last three months, but there must be some kind of disconnect because TU says they haven't heard from them.

I'm still on track for a mortgage for 2013, so I'm going to stay in this garden and make it grow until then.  Happy Gardening, everybody! :-)

That's wonderful! Congrats on getting your Platinum Spade!!! Keep up the good work!  Smiley Very Happy

I hope that you'll soon be able to have your student loans reporting correctly. It can be frustrating trying to make sure that reports are accurate. I'm sure that you'll get it worked out. Best wishes.

Not specifically, but with the overall intent of keeping my history clean.  I was in the early stages of thinking of renewing or refinancing early to lock into a low cheap rate.  My aniversary is May 2014 but with the "mortage rate wars" by Canadian banks and the real possibility of rate increases next year, it's something to think about.  Right now I am on a variable 3.6% (unchanged in over 2 years) and some of these banks were throwing numbers around of 3.29-3.75% for 5 yr fixed. My score has risen from the roughly 700 when I got the mortgage to the low 800s so I didn't get the lowest rate possible.  A buddy of mine has a variable 3.1% with the same bank.  So I'm a little bit jealous.  Smiley Happy
