Becareful LS, the internet and booze do not mix well.  Back in Dec I ordered a $200 fur hat, it is an authentic Russian fur hat I always wanted.  Still, $200!!!

Re: Garden Club Meeting - June 2012

I've been in the "garden" for three years now, since June of 2009.  Everytime I get the urge to app for a card, I just ask myself how it's going to change my life in any meaningful way.  So far it's worked.  The only CLIs I have initiated were ones I knew would result in SPs.  I've been paying down on my utilization and am working on my AAoA.  Just trying to keep the big picture in mind rather than the short-term gratification that comes with receiving a new CC that I'm just going to sockdrawer when the novelty of it runs off.

I don't count the inquiries on EX since they were business related and not for accounts on my personal CRs ... plus lol I didn't actually initiate them.  I have a sneaking suspicion that my younger brother (also business partner) signed the CU paperwork with my name on it :smileywink:

Current:
TU 04(4/24/13): 766 (No Inquiries)
EQ (4/15/13): 780 (No Inquiries);
EX (4/16/13): 770 (Inquiries: 9/9/11; 7/2/12; 11/20/12) - freecreditreport.com

Goal: No inquiries for 2013, 750 for all CRs by 12/31/13

Ha!  There's nothing worse than a hangover AND a denial.  I've done my share of drunk apping.  Many years ago, I woke up one morning with four new accounts, and at least as many new inqs.  It took a year or more for my scores to recover, and the saddest thing is that I applied for cards I really didn't want,  :smileysurprised: which all but one I closed within the next week.  Alco-apping is really dangerous! :smileyvery-happy:

Re: Garden Club Meeting - June 2012

Hello! Almost a month app free! Went app crazy in May and picked up 4 new accounts and about 7-8 Inqs. I plan on staying put in the garden until all of my baddies fall off next year,my accounts and inqs age, and I get my utilization back down to 10%. Right now I'm at around 40% with all 0% interest promos running. With the new accounts/inqs/higher util, my scores have dived, but they'll recover soon.

Next year I have my sights on Discover More and Amex Green. After my app spree I weeded out First Premier and Credit One. Next year Capital One and Amex Optima will get the big chop. Picking up my Vodka Seltzer adding some limes and watching the fruits of my credit labor flourish :smileyhappy:

I'm gonna hang out another 6 months or longer. See if any of my cards do a decent CLI. Not wasting any pulls.

Reminds me of the Sopranos episode where Paulie was figuring that when he died, he needed to spend 50,000 years in purgatory and his comment was that he could do that standing on his head.
