After getting approved for 2 new cap 1 cards, which should be here soon, I'm heading into the garden. Total noob here, but getting credit back on track. How ling do y'all typically stay in?  6 month?

I am fast approaching one month (6 days away), and I plan on staying in until the end of may-mid of june. So this stint will only be 4-5 months. I think that it depends on the situation of the individual gardener.

Aww man. I almost fell out of the garden on my first day. Smiley Embarassed

I wanted to try out the shopping cart trick at NY & Co. Fortunately nothing popped up. If it had, I might have been weak and taken it.

I got a SW alert that my score went up by 15 points. It should go up even more when I have a zero balance post and another card with lower utilization. That should be incentive enough for me to sit on my hands. Smiley Happy

Re: Garden Club Meeting - March 2013

Still here... Smiley Happy

March looks like it may turn out to be a very good month.

I will be paying down a large chunk of my remaining revolving debt, which should push me to around 2% util on all of my cards, with a balance remaining on only one (util on it will be at about 30% - 0% BT through the end of the year).  This is a far cry from my close to 70% util I had (with $26000 in revolving debt) when I started on this journey just over 1 year ago.

Also, this is the month I am eligible for CLIs on my 3 GE cards (I try to avoid the underwriter unless I am declined).  Here are my results:

PayPal SC - $4000 --> $5000

Amazon - $5000 --> $6400 (this was an auto CLI - discovered it when I logged on Smiley Surprised)

Walmart Discover - $4000 --> $6000

And oh yeah, I'll be exchanging my silver spade for a gold one on 3/16/13. Smiley Very Happy

Re: Garden Club Meeting - March 2013

Just noticed I passed my 1month mark and am now the proud owner of a shiny new bronze spade!

I did get a credit steps increase on my Cap1 rewards card, which just turned 6 months old a few days ago, so now that's at $750 (where it'll probably stay forever now, haha. actually, I'll probably just wait till I get closer to the AF date and contact EO and see if I can get that fee waived. or maybe I'll just pay it for another year, we'll see.)

I'm excited to garden and see everything grow. I'm only 22, so I'm just starting my journey and I've definitely got time, and I feel like - other than, arguably, Cap1 - I've got a good bunch of cards here that will grow well with me.

American Express Blue Cash Everyday | American Express Green | Bank AmeriCard Travel Rewards | Barclaycard Ring | Capital One Rewards | Chase Amazon | Chase Freedom | Citi Simplicity | Discover IT | Fidelity Investment Rewards AmEx | Freedom First CU Visa | Hudson Valley FCU Visa | Paypal Extras MC | + several store cards
