Re: Garden Club Meeting - March 2013

BofA has already reported my CLI (from $3500 to $7500). My CK score went up 2pts after going down 1pt. Need to wait a bit before pulling real FICOs.

Luckily, I don't have the itch to apply for anything since I got the AMEX PRG that I wanted. 3 more months until I can get another AMEX CLI for my BCE.

ETA: BofA sent me my TU FICO (I requested A CLI to $10k, they only gave me to $7.5k): 728 which is in line with what I had in Jan. from myFico.com. I'm guessing it probably went down a few points due to the HP, hopefully it will bounce back in a few months to even higher with the CLI and new 2008 AMEX PRG that should be reporting soon.  Apparently today is the closing date.

Right now, I'm focussing on investing so no new credit apps needed.

Current Cards: AMEX Everyday ($15k), AMEX BCE ($20k), Amex Platinum, Arrival ($11.5k), Merrill+ ($7.5k), Freedom ($5k), Double Cash ($6.5k)

2/16 - 864 Fico EQ (CITI); 818 Fico Ex (AMEX)

Re: Garden Club Meeting - March 2013

Well, I had a bit of an itch today. Well I wouldn't call it much of an itch as it is to save money on my trip to cancun! I will most likely be flying with US Airways and I was looking on google to see if any of my cards had partnerships. Well it turns out they don't but US Airways has one of their own. So I was browsing along and saw a few partnered sites that offered a total of 40,000 points (35,000 points needed for US to Mexico flight, coach class, 60,000 for first) with a companion ticket for $99 *starting* I was tempted to consider applying simply because I thought this would save a TON of money. Well I did a bit of research and it would save me about $1,300 out of $2,800 but I don't know if that would be worth the hard hit. I don't really have a desire for the card so I would most likely just end up getting the points and getting the ticket, keep it open until after the flight (to make use of the lounge + benefits during flight and stay) and then closing it at the 1 year mark.

I decided against it anyways :\ Not sure if that was the smart choice or not, but it's what I chose

Re: Garden Club Meeting - March 2013

Thanks to all for the kudos in attaining my gold spade.  I know that was a hit-and-run post when I put it up, but school is keeping me swamped here in my final month.

Looks like we have some others coming up on significant milestones - LS, webhopper, rtw, BungalowMo...  Congrats to you all. Smiley Happy

Re: Garden Club Meeting - March 2013

i just had 3 inquiries age to 1 year on equifax-i'm down to the home stretch now. On Friday i had 5/7/7 inquiries in the last 12 months on EX/EQ/TU. Tomorrow it will be down to 3/4/5, and after April 20 then it will be 2/3/3. Ennui is beginning to set in with the lack of activity going on as far as my credit. When i last apped, December 2, i was at 5/10/9. I think i will probably be able to hold out until at least june, so for the first time i can have a credit profile without any sub 6-month old accounts. I Should get a scorewatch update tomorrow since chase updated on Equifax today.

Re: Garden Club Meeting - March 2013

12 days until I pickup a sliver spade and IM starting to see fruit as soon as it ripens I'll try turning it into CLI'sSmiley Wink

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?
