Re: Garden Club Meeting - March 2013

On another note, I want to post a reconsideration victory with a soft pull. I applied to Amex BCE before entering the Garden and was denied. Since sofe-pulling is allowed in the Garden, I decided to research and browse these ever-helpful boards on the forum. I landed upon very good recon advice that worked (Exec number here and sample letter here). I called the Exec Office, gave a short, matter-of-fact reasoning for my call, including some points made in the sample letter along with a couple reasons of my own, and very politely requested that they recon my app. They took my name and number for a call back in 24-48hrs, and I forced myself to get off of my seat of pins and needles and focus on other things. A lady called me back within 20 minutes to congratulate me on being approved for a $2K limit!

Being in the Garden is so therapeutic at this point.

Re: Garden Club Meeting - March 2013

Yay, more growth on an existing TL! The luv button is back on my Dillard's Amex; no more having to call in for CLIs. My latest statement just cut and I pressed it today. The result -- a $1500 CLI, bringing me up to $7500!!! This is now my second highest limit. Not bad for a seedling that started out at $700 back in April 2011. Smiley Happy

I am so in the garden! I did a mini spree this weekend and I now have to recover from the inq and just let my new accounts grow. Thankfully, my GE cards are at or passing the 6 mo period, so I will scratch my itch by calling Credit Solutions!

I am so happy to have my credit back on track and to be approved for $10,000 Visa is all to the invaluable guidance and assistance I have received these past 7 mos.

My family thought I was a little obsessive about 'my forum' as I have grown to call it but obsession or not- it is working. Knowledge is power and I am so happy that this board is filled with caring, positive and knowledgeable people!

This time last year, I had no revolving credit, a paid off mortgage, 2 student loans and I had to buy a car after my son totaled my 14 year old car. Cash was the way I did business for years!  With the knowledge I have gained from all of you, I truly appreciate util, inq's,  PIF and diligently monitoring may CRs - again

THANK YOU!

Congratulations to you!!! You've done a wonderful job of building up a positive credit history -- learning about repsonsible credit management and then applying what you've leaned -- and this will serve you well for years to come. May you enjoy the fruits of your labors. Smiley Happy

Re: Garden Club Meeting - March 2013

Well I am in the gardening state myself right now, actually been since December since I applied for anything. I haven't been on here much but according to my FICO score simulator I am on track to be in the 700s in a year or so. I had to use a bunch of my credit cards while I was unemployed so they are in the sock drawer now and I am paying them off. Good thing is back in June I opened up a secured 2k loan thru my local bank and I just paid that off last week so hopefully it reflects in my credit score soon

Starting Score: 502 5/4/2012

Great! You seem like you're on the right track. Proudly update your signature with the corresponding pic showing your length of time tending to your garden. You're an inspiration to those who are bouncing back from using up CCs out of unexpected necessity!
