Well I am still in the garden, but I joined PenFed and I think they may have done a hard pull for membership...

Yes, they do.  EQ for me last year.

My new long-term gardening goal is to maybe app for one of their CCs early next year, but not sure about this since I now have the two new AMEX cards.  From how conservative it appears they are, I wouldn't even attempt it unless I was around a 750 EQ and had very low utilization on only one card.

I want to keep my inquiries minimized for a 2014 mortgage, so after a planned detour I am planting myself here.  I just spent 6 months gardening, and surprisingly it wasn't that difficult.  And, it resulted in a couple of great cards and got me back in with AMEX - never would have happened if I hadn't gardened first.

Starting Score: Jan 2012: EQ - 659, TU08 - 670, EX - ???
Current Score:May 2013: EQ - 752, TU08 - 753, EX - 741 (Amex 4/13)
Goal Score: 760 on each by 12/31/13, Last app - 4/1/13

Re: Garden Club Meeting - May 2012

15 days now... haven't seen land... it's getting warmer out here, I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever see another cruise ship... working on some travel rewards, could get me within sight of an island... might find some food there, maybe a coconut, or an Amex app, something I can use... Blue Ocean Preferred... getting a little wonky now... might have to chew off my Capital One and ration out the Chase to survive...

...save yourself...

Re: Garden Club Meeting - May 2012

Well I FINALLY got AMEX to CLI my BCP.  They are no longer punishing me for DH not paying them enough each month (more than min, but not enough for a CLI).  They 3X CLI form $1K to $3K.  Now I have to wait 6 months, but I will be gardening anyways.

Does Walmart auto CLI when you first get the card?

Loyal member since Feb this year, and will be until a mortgage in Q3. Stay strong!

It's tempting, because I know I would be approved for a card that I'd really like to have long-term... It will just have to wait.

OK. It is now 6 weeks that I am app free.  That app spree is now way back there. I am trudging forward.

Still here, but need to attend some meetings. This Delta AMEX has got me itching some.

Try eating a habanero pepper everytime you want to app.  I promise you that you will forget about wanting to app :smileytongue:

New to this gardening thing. I have not had an app since November '11 so its been 7 months for me! I have also seen my score rise from the 690's to 742 on my TU, and 746 on EQ! I do have a BOA card that I opened on Nov.11 for only a 1000 CL..I want to increase that, does anyone know if BOA does a hard or soft pull for CLI?
