Re: Garden Club Meeting - May 2012

BoA just sent me a pre-selected offer of their 123 card with $200 bonus. So tempting >__<   I'm going on a little trip soon, $200 could help me out.

Re: Garden Club Meeting - May 2012

I'm doing good. I have all my new cards and absolutely no desire now that they're here to go get more... between Amex, Chase and a sparkly blue Discover with the sign of the beast on it... er, I mean my Wal-mart card, I'm pretty happy. The CapOne is sitting in one of those inner wallet pockets normally reserved for business cards that you'll never again pull out.

The only credit inquiry that's tugging my chain is getting an auto loan refinance. I might have to climb out for a day and go talk to my CU at some point.

Re: Garden Club Meeting - May 2012

I am just chillin in the garden :smileyhappy:  I got my 4 new cards, transferred balances to 0% for 15 months.  I did run up a new toy on the new Discover though.  I got tired for the constant problems with my Blackberry, so I got an iphone 4s.  I am not sure if I will keep it, I have big hands and it is a pain, but Siri does make it easier.

The only thing that is really itching at me is my credit union card, I would like to double the CL from 2k to 4k before the end of the year.  The problem is I know they will do a hard pull.  That is just how they do things, so I guess that plan will have to wait till next year.  I got my heart set on BCE or BCP first.

My husband didn't qualify for the credit union card back when he joined them 5 years ago. We're seriously considering having him app for that if the house ever closes..  His Equifax is a 715 right now, his TU was 707 back on May 3rd (glad his Walmart account still updates his TU score even though it's been closed a long time.. lol)

As soon as the house closes, probably hitting up his credit union and Discover More..  After that, waiting for his Zync to hit a year old and we'll see where his score is at, possibly try for an Amex revolver.

Re: Garden Club Meeting - May 2012

Joining the garden unless this jcb 3% cash back card pulls me out. Out of curiosity, does cli count or not count as being in the garden? Waiting on whether or not my wife gets Amex backdated. If it does, going to concentrate on deepening her credit file as she has great scores but not a lot of credit lines.

CLIs that are soft pulls are alright, it's them pesky hard pulls that you don't want rooting around in your garden. ;-)

Yep always want to avoid them hard pulls :smileyhappy:  My understanding is soft pulls, dumping cards and increasing CLs is cultivating your garden

oh and paying down any balances you may have

Re: Garden Club Meeting - May 2012

Wanting to add another AMEX to my collection but can't decide to wait for 6 months of history or a full year. A full year would obviously be better but that Delta gold card is very interesting.

Re: Garden Club Meeting - May 2012

I got a pre approved offer for the delta two days after apping my zync. Funny considering I was seriously considering that over the charge card... But too late, it will have to wait until this time next year!
