I dated a guy that bought a 5k hdtv on his best buy account when it first came out. 2 years later he was still paying for the Tv and I was able to buy one for cash from a guy that needed funds fast for 500 bucks. His was a 52 inch mine was a 47 inch.

He carried an amex and made fun of me for carrying a discover card. The relationship didn't last Smiley Wink

Yeah, good choice! That is certainly poor financial judgement and poor use of credit.

Started out with a 648 EQ in 2018, finally got to 850 FS8 TU | 836 FSU EX in November 2021!

Bought a new truck in Sept of this year and put a few purchases on credit time to make sizeable payments ahead and just let everything grow. Should have my last late payment drop off in January so my score should shoot up with the positive history.

Re: Garden Club Meeting - November 2012

Hey All,

I've not been the best at gardening this year, but the small amount that I did helped me get new cards and finally meet my goal scores for 2012 - 720 on each by 12/31/12.  And two months early, besides. Smiley Happy

I will hit two months in the gard on 11/16, and plan to stay here for the forseeable future.  Possible mortgage app in 2013, so I have to behave.

As an aside, I'm having a love/hate relationship with Amex right now - hate that I've tried twice to get a CLI and gotten denied both times, but love the fact that I get an updated Experian score each time.  Who needs PSECU??? Smiley Tongue

Starting Score: Jan 2012: EQ - 659, TU08 - 670, EX - ???
Current Score:April 2014: EQ - 772, TU08 - 782, EX - 754
Last App:3/21/14

Re: Garden Club Meeting - November 2012

Well, I WAS in the garden until something happened, I started feeling itchy all over..... I think it might have been the mini-quiches...I'm still not sure.... Anyway, I app'd and was approved over the phone on reconsideration for a $6,000 flexible spending line with the Chase Ink Bold charge card.

I think it was worth it...but I still feel a little itchy.

Back in the garden to cultivate my new seedling.

Re: Garden Club Meeting - November 2012

I've been so bad.  After just two months, I left the garden and picked up an Amazon store card for it to grow the next 8 months.   And then siren song of Chase United's 50k bonus miles for was too great.   Chase denied me on that because I picked up my first two Chase cards in August and they werent quite ready to give me another card just yet.  But in recon I explained my reasons and they allowed me to move a majority of my credit limit from Chase Amazon to United (better interest rate also) .   I was pleasantly surprised with Chase.  So I'm happy and my streak is still going.

Those two cards were the "I wish I would have's" that lingered from my rather large August App Spree. So I honestly think I a set at this point, I'm going to work on growing these cards.

Zync NPSL, BCP ($2000), Chase United ($2000) Chase Amazon ($1500), Chase Freedom ($3000), Discover More ($2000), Paypal Extras ($5000), Citi Forward ($2000), Orchard $2000, Amazon ($5000)
Pre-App Scores: TU98 779, TU04 797, EQ 682, EX 788 (Amex) 8/12

Re: Garden Club Meeting - November 2012

Still in the garden.  5 days until bronze spade!

Good news to report...  my dispute of the judgment on my EX report finally worked, and I'm proud to say that my credit report no longer contains any public records!!  Whoo hoo!

The backstory is that the judgment was dismissed by the court after I settled it.... I found this out earlier this year, and have been fighting to get it removed from all three.

FICO 9:
Filed Chapter 13 on 6/1/2017 after job loss. Discharged 6/1/2022.

Goal: Gardening!
