My Discover card has finally reported and I received a new SW alert today. I've been waiting to see how my score was going to be affected by this final new credit ding. Much to my surprise, I actually got a 15 point boost, bringing me up to 710! I doubt that it was because of the new account, though; a couple of other things may very well have factored in. Today is the 1 year anniversary of an inq, so the effect was due to drop off. And, an account that reported a balance last month updated to a zero balance. So, I'm sure that the score change was due to a combination of factors all happening to coincide at once. Whatever the case, I'm thrilled to be back in the 700 club across the board!!!
Now to continue sitting back in the garden and enjoying the view!
New to the garden, but I am hoping for no apps until we start looking to buy a home in October of next year. That's a whole year!!! I hope I can do it! I added a few new cards in the last two months so I need to just let these babies grow. Three GE cards to nurture and hope for decent increases. Now it;s time to just sit back and live through everyone else on this forum. I can't lie, I get pretty excited when other people get approvals. Now let me kick back and relax my feet. Here's hoping I don't get any itches!!
New to the boards here, and looks like I'll be joining the Garden after a fairly large app spree. All in September in October: Amex BCP - $2000 limit, US Bank Cash Plus - Dropped to Cash Rewards with $2500 limit, will look to upgrade in 6 months, Purdue Federal Credit Union Rewards Visa - $2500 limit, Citi Diamond Preferred (Pre Approval) - $1800, Capital One Cash Rewards (No Annual Fee) - Declined.
I currently have a starter card with Cap One and figured during the spree apply for one of the Prime Cards, called to recon, but no such luck. Not the best smooth talker I guess.
Now time to let this stuff grow. I would like to get the US Bank Cash upgraded to the Cash Plus Signature. Aside from that just get my limits up. Right now I use my Chase Freedom and Amex BCP for most everything, More on certain occaisons as well.
6 months app free..........feeling pretty good.........
