Re: Garden Club Meeting - September 2013

Why I am gardening for 1 year (last new card 7/24/13):

* My AAOA will be 4 years

* All CC debt will be paid off

* 75% of my cards will be older than 2 years (currently 25%)

* Only 4 inqs will remain spread across 3 bureaus (all will be older than 1 year)

* My report will have a solid year + of credit lines over 5K managed properly

* My current rewards cards match my spending

* I am not a millionaire and at some point I will hit my credit ceiling. I want the best limits on the cards with the most value for me

Yesterday in the mail, I got a Fingerhut catalog that said I had bee pre-approved for an $800 CL.

Yeah, that went in the trash.

Great plan and well thought out

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

I got my bronze spade on the 25th - T-25 to the silver. My $500 preapproved Fingerhut catalog went in the recycling the other day. I will be in the garden until at least the end of the year. Just checked scorewatch and it's at 676. In early July it was 651 so I'm heading in the right direction.

Re: Garden Club Meeting - September 2013

Sheesh, 18 pages already!

Anyways, I am still in the garden until December (I promised myjourney.) I am debating to get the BCE/SPG during my next round of apps, and then I'm going to garden for a year. If I can get both of the cards, I would be happy. If I garden for a year after my next round of apps I should be able to get the cards I really want+ a higher income (I want the CSP, Fidelity Amex, Citi AAdvantage Plat, and Marriott Premier. I might close a couple of cards at the same time since I want to limit how many cards I have, generally a max of 7-8. Closing my PRG in a month as well....or I just might keep it, I shall see.) Also getting my new spade in a couple of next weeks. Garden strong everybody!

Re: Garden Club Meeting - September 2013

Well, DD is safely back on campus in her very spaciousSmiley Happy single room.

I'm so tired I wouldn't have the energy to app, even if I wanted to, which I do not.

Hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend.
