@Anonymous wrote:Hello all,
Checking in to join the club (albeit late in the month). I had a small app spree last week. Got 3 cards, 2 decisions haven't come back yet. (All I had before this was a secured USAA MasterCard) Now I think I would like to garden for 6 months (and maybe longer).
Excited to watch my file & scores grow, although I'm not a very patient person so I will have to find ways to tell myself to chill.
Glad to be here and hope everyone is doing well!
My suggestion would be to come up with an plan of what you want to do credit wise, like which cards you want to get and in what time frame. That way you won't be so antsy and app for things willy nilly.
Thanks, mong. I was thinking about it and I'm not really worried that I'm going to start apping on a whim. I think I can definitely stick to the plan. My inpatience is kicking into overdrive right now because I want to see my new cards start reporting and I want the first month billing cycle to end. There's no way that's going to happen right now. I haven't even gotten the new cards in the mail. But I've been trying to ward off the boredom by reading over the forums here. I plan on apping for an auto loan around June 2016 and I may want to app for a Visa CC (have no idea who through yet, but I have a MC and an AmEx now; I'd like a Visa with great rewards) around July 2015. There's really no reason to app for anything else. I have 4 cards to keep me busy. I'll keep reading the forums and gaining knowledge from all you wonderful contributors.
Thanks to all for your stories and advice (even I've not been here very long but I've been lurking in the shadows, reading a lot); it's really helpful.
Entered the garden on 11/18 after successfully applying for four new cards: Chase Freedom, Citi Double Cash, HawaiianMiles World Elite, and Costco/AmEx TrueEarnings.
Currently aiming for three months in the garden for a quick step out to get the AmEx BCP in January to help boost my AAoA and add a 6% CB card that will really help out due to the amount of groceries we go through. After that I'll be jumping right back in for an indefinite period of time.
Hope everyone's doing well!

Nice batch of cards (wish I knew my scores, but patiently waiting). Welcome, grab gloves and seeds, plus jacket (it's cold and rainy outside).
