Welcome back

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Re: Garden Club - October 2014

I am striving to be in a position where I can get credit if I want it. I don't want to live above my means but to be able to take advantage of the interest free credit offers at a furniture store would be nice. I'd also like to get a Southwestern airlines reward card. The companion flight perk is one of my goals. What I really want is to get a HELOC or HEL to buy a small investment property and finish building our retirement home in the Caribbean. Ultimately retiring with several paid off properties and living in the sun on the income. Maybe sell one and take a few dream holidays. Ah, yes.... a lot of work to do but it's all doable :-)

Re: Garden Club - October 2014

The garden is supposed to be peaceful, but I keep getting tempted with pre-approved and pre-qualified offers. I received 2 new Chase cards before entering the garden earlier this month. I was denied for a third card, likely because 3 apps in a couple of days was more than Chase wanted to see. Now they send me mail pre-approving me for 2 of their cards (one which also pops up on the pre-qual site) and one of those two cards is the card I applied for and was denied. Moreover, I might still be within my recon period for the card.

To recon (likely no HP...but you never know) and leave the garden in less than 2 weeks, or stay strong and avoid temptation? Such hard choices!

You can opt out of preapprovals.
