weird, i've only ever had $1 authorizations from gas stations around here.

I've only ever seen 2 pre-auth for odd amounts like $55 and $77 on my zync, and I've been using it for 100% of purchases for 3 months now. Do some stations NOT pre-auth? I fill-up at costco about 95% of the time...so not sure if that has anything to do with it.

those two big pre-auths were from a small gas station. mobile, shell and hess have always pre-authed $1.

I had that happen to me but not for that much. I used my Macy's Amex to buy about $10 worth of gas at Bucees.. They did a pre auth of about $100 that took about a week to fall off.

I live in GA and have used my Amex and they pre authed $125 , When I use anything with a Visa od MC logo on it they only pre auth for $ 1.00 , So I have no Idea what to think . I just pay cash now !!
