Getting a Chase CLI w/out a HP

For those looking to get a CLI from Chase while avoiding a HP, I think I may have found a strategy that 'could' work under the right circumstances.  I've had a CSP for just under a year.  I tend to use the card for virtually all purchases other than gas/grocery, and I PIF every month before my statement closes.  Because I run a significant amount of expenses through the card each month, I do want my limit as high as possible even though my current limit is not prohibitive.

Anyway, I called the CSP number on the back of my card to see if I was eligible for a CLI w/out a hard pull, and the CS rep (not surprisingly) said that any CLI requests require a hard pull.  The rep did mention, however, that Chase will typically do an account review every 6 months to 1 year and will occasionally grant an automatic increase.  I told the rep that I did not want a hard pull and ended the conversation.  Fast forward to this morning, I logged onto the card site and was surprised to notice my line had increased by $3.5K.  There are no hard pulls on any of my reports.

I'm assuming that my call to customer service spurred a quick review by Chase, and I got luck with a CLI.  I thought this might be a good stratey for anyone looking to get a CLI w/out taking a HP hit.

Re: Getting a Chase CLI w/out a HP

Don't ask them for CLI.. I find if I use my card normal use every month I get automatic cli's from Chase. I just got one today for $1000.00 didn't even ask for it.  I woke up and it was already added to my CL. This saves me from racking up inqs.
