I currently have 2 Amex cards. One SPG Amex with a 21k Limit (was 5k until 2 weeks ago, received an auto-CLI to 7k, then requested 3x CLI to 21k) which I received last year and a Delta Reserve amex which I received in March (5k limit). I'm trying to maximize the number of MQM's I get for Delta and am considering the Delta Platinum Amex with 50k miles and 15k MQM bonus. Am I likely to be approved for a third card, or am I just asking for a FR.
Credit Score is about 710. Imcome 67.5k. AAOA 19 months. 2 inquiries in the last year.
I think you would be approved for another Amex revolver. They have been far more generous with your limits than they ever have for me. The issue you may have is in order to claim the bonus on the Delta Platinum, the rules are vague if you need to have another Delta card closed within 90 days of the next. I had a Delta Gold which I closed in June 2014 and was recently approved for the Delta Platinum. The CSR confirmed the bonus, but I kind of took a gamble on it because I needed the backdate more than the bonus.
You could just reach the internal limit with your income. But other than that I would think you should be fine. It would interesting to know what the internal limit is compared to annual income. Good luck!

True, but also if that is the case when calling in you can shift some CL from the other card. Good point.

Unless you have a lot of credit outside of AMEX, I think the odds of approval are good. Members here have reported having total CLs up to and even above 90% of their income across AMEX revolvers (the 40% of income number seems to be for individual revolvers and many members get auto-CLIed past that number).
Question:
The deadline to get the large signup bonus is coming up in a few hours. My concern with apping is that last month I had high Util on my cards.
RBC 4.8k/5k
Delta Reserve 4.8k/5k (was up to 6.5k at one point)
SPG 4.2k/21k
RBC was just paid off in full. I paid off the minimums and a bit more on my Amex cards and will pay off in full at the end of the week when they are due. All in my util is about 48% on Credit.com and my FAKO EX score is about 690. This should jump a lot next week since my next util should be about 2k / 31k (under 10%).
when last year did you get your spg card? What type of spend were you putting on it and were you PIF each mont before getting the auto-cli?

Does Amex handle this in the same way Chase does where they basically tell you if you want the card we can move credit lines around? I want to pick up another amex card and I am worried about getting denied for having too much credit with them, but I don't mind moving card lines around to get the new card.
Got the SPG card in October 2013 (Global Transfer) with a 5k limit. Probably averaging 3k a month though it varies from $500 to $5000. Always PIF.
