Goal Cards for 2014?

Well, after being denied a second time by Chase, I know I certainly must garden for 6 months before they'll even look at me.

So..my goal card for this year is a Chase Freedom.

I might even want to go for an AMEX...I dunno. I have no interest in a charge card (unless I can get way more worth out of the AF in rewards)...I'd want to go for a BCE or something but wouldn't really want to have to go the Charge Card route first. We'll see how my EX score is in 6 months and go from there, I guess..

What are your goal cards for this year???

Scores 5/15/2016 (clean reports!): TU Walmart FICO: 696 | EQ FICO: 679 | EX AMEX FICO: 680

In my new wallet: American Express Green EMV: PSL $2000 | BankAmericard Cash Rewards Visa EMV: $2500 | Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select World MasterCard: $6400 | Barclaycard Arrival World MasterCard: $1000 | Discover IT: $2500 | Amazon Rewards Visa Signature: $1500 | Chase Freedom: $1500 | Capital One QuicksilverOne MasterCard: $2100 | Target: $2800 | J.Crew $21,550 | Marvel (Captain America) MasterCard: $6000

Re: Goal Cards for 2014?

You can always get a charge card from
Amex, free AF for first year. Once you put some spend on it apply for a revolver card with them, go to 3x limit then hit up
Chase?

That was my plan recently but after I got approved for PRG (called in to inquire which one to apply for) I applied for delta the next day (online) as I read that's the easiest to apply for.

Later this year I'm hoping for CSP. I could use the bonus points on cab fares and dining. And no fx fees.

Re: Goal Cards for 2014?

AMEX BCP and Chase CSP. I am waiting until september to apply. I have some serious lates from 4 years ago but no collections, charge offs or bankruptcy. I have to get car loan first. My scores should go up significanly as I am currently at 50% utilization with one card showing 85% usage. Everything will be paid off in the next 60 days. Will only have 1 inq on TU and EX in the last year by september including car loan app. Hoping my scores will be around 720+ by then.

EX: 844 EQ: 848 TU: 839

None, now I have the Blue Cash.   Well, if Chase forced an Ink on me I would take it.

I'm AU on an Ink card at work. Love that card. We've used both UR and MR AMEX programs and prefer UR better...It's also a World Elite so the MasterCard logo looks nicer...lol.

Barclay Arrival and Chase Freedom.

When I got those 2, I think I'm done for the forseeable future. I think 1 card from the 4 major companies is enough for me.
