Goal cards for 2013??

[ Edited ]

As 2012 comes to close, I can't help but sit back and ponder about how far I've come. Around this time last year, I had NO revolving credit and was using a debit card on a daily basis. At this point in time, I've gained over $3500 in revolving credit (thanks to 5 major cards and one store card)

2013 gets me all giddy with excitement because the majority of my baddies will be falling off, and at least one my scores have the possibility of reaching 700 for probably the first time...well...ever.

I have a couple cards in mind for 2013:

  • Barclays NFL Extra Points Card (maybe early 2013...seems like the easiest prime card to get...perfect transition into "primeville")
  • Discover IT
  • USAA Platinum Rewards Visa
  • Chase Amazon Visa

If I can get any two of those, it'll be time to consolidate a little. Credit One would be getting the Axe, as well as the other rebuilders (2 @ $500 CL each)

What cards are YOU aiming for next year?

Starting Score: TU TransRisk 532| EQ FICO 635|EX Plus 612
Current Score: TU TransRisk 590|EQ FICO 677|EX FAKO 674|Vantage 684 as of March 6, 20
Goal Score: 750-800 across the board

2012:

I was using prepaid debit cards because I was in Chexsystem. I finally paid off TD Bank in June and got a new bank account with BofA after 5 years or so without a bank account. I also paid off all my other collections and my repo fell off in October.

I finally got my first credit card in July with Capital One and a second with DCU in November.

I plan to get a Walmart CC in January once I get 6 month of history and I'm planning to garden til July.

2013:

I'm gonna aim for Amex BCE/BCP and Discover in July. I also wanna try for CSP at the end of 2013 :catvery-happy:

Re: Goal cards for 2013??

2012: Got most of the cards I really wanted even though I had no history to start with. Very happy with what I have right now and my limits (cards in sig)

2013: There really are only two cards I really want, and I will apply in June after 6 months of being in the garden. The BCE and Freedom, and I might go for the Gold Delta if I am not approved for the BCE, or maybe the SPG. Just depends. I think I will qualify for the Freedom the next time I apply though. And then I'm going into the garden for at least another 6 months to a year. I might want to increase my limits a little bit as well and hopefully with an SP (BOFA to 1,000 and Citi and Discover 500 each to 2k respectfully.)

Bank of America: Cash Rewards.-700$. 4/25/12, Citi: Forward- 1.5k. 10/27/12. Discover: More- 1.5k. 10/27/12. Amex: PRG- NPSL. 11/24/12. Chase: Freedom.- 2.4k. 5/1/13. Last App: 5/10/13.
