Got A Call From Amex, From an unknown number.

anyways woke up to a call from amex, and a voicemail

number said uknown which is weird

anywho it was, the customer advocate and research team.

i was like great fr. but nope. they wanted too know why i never activated my card that i ordered and too inform me about their apologies they sent the wrong card.

chips are coming too zync at the end of october now, according too the rep.

just thought id share.

EMV chips like in Europe or Canada. They're coming to the US and some banks have started to offer them (Citi's Thank you point preferred card). Amex has rolled them out and offers them by request. However, initially they had said that the Zync could have a chip but then they said it would come after October 31st, hence the OP's post.

they sent me another zync, but it had nothing in it.

as in the same card as i had before, except with a new account number.

i talked too the rep yesterday when he called back.

saying it would be sent out with no additional effort on my part.

I got the same call from a blocked number from Amex two days ago... He said they will issue me my zync with emv chip at the end of the month... Guess they knew I got the same card (no chip) a few weeks ago when I said I wanted my zync with chip...

Just got the same call today - Chipped Unicorn is on the way!

So does anyone if there are places or stores that accept EMV chips in the US? For instance, any big retailers or stores etc. I am curious to know if there are places where I could use it.

Got the chipped unicorn. It does exist. As for where to use it... we'll see.
