Hey guys,
I made the decision to apply for the PRG on the 24th, and as I submitted it, and came back from dinner, I found out I was instantly approved! I just got the card expidited to me (I didnt ask, they did it for me). It came in a Plain white envelope, but inside of a UPS package. So very happy to be in with Amex. They did pull Experian when I called in to activate but she did not tell me my score. I also applied for the Chase Freedom, and they pulled Experian in my area. I ended up getting declined, and I tried to recon yesterday, but the lady was very nice and told me patiently that they only saw my BOFA account, and they would like to see some history with other cards before they issue me a card. I told them I understood, and she said that my credit scores were very good and my credit report was very clean. I am gardening until May (my birthday is when I will try again, and hopefully my history will still be as good.) But I am very happy with my new accounts (minus citi's website, it drives me nuts.) and glad to get in with some excellent creditors. Chase is the last one I am aiming for before I stop applying for cards for at least a year. But I am very happy with the progress I have made it in the last few months and hope to build on it.

Congrats! How much are you planning on pumping through the card? Do you think it will be worth the $175 AF?
Congrats Snowman! I thought you just applied for the Gold, but congrats on the PRG!
M- I am a student, and I have 12,000 income (Side business+waiting tables, I know it isn't much and I wonder how AMEX granted me a card, but I'm happy nonetheless). I am planning to push 600-700 dollars a month, and If I need to charge anything higher then that I'll call Amex to let them know I need to charge more for whatever reason and just pay it off ASAP (main reason for a charge card, keeps my monthly spending in check, I checked my spending ability and tested 600 so far and was approved, but I'm not touching it anymore...lol). I plan to use the card for larger purchases like when I go shopping, going to some higher end restaurants, those sort of places. I think it is well worth it if I use the benefits accordingly ( which I plan to do), but I wish the AF was a little bit lower. And thank you!
Sak- Thank you! I applied for the Gold, but I changed my mind and I asked them If I can get the PRG instead, and they okayed it, but she did ask me if I was okay with annual fee, and I said yes. I'll see how the card is before I decide to pay the AF. No more cards for 6 months for me.
Congrats
Wait, what is the difference between the PRG and Gold?

The PRG allows one to earn tripe points for travel, and double points for grocery shopping in supermarkets. You can't do that with the regular gold, or even the green. If you spent heavily on those categories, then maybe the PRG will be worth the AF of $175.
You can also order 5 additional cards for no additional cost.
