Sorry if this post reads funny, it's my first mobile post.
I've had a CredOne account for a year apparently, which I planned to cancel.
Today was my 1 year anniversary as I received my balance email and immediately a statement email. Weird since I don't receive statement emails. But they charged an annual fee payment right before cutting the statement. Last year I paid the AF in full the day the card came in the mail.

So I called to pay that stupid fee if needed and to close the account. I was greeted with a CLI A$250 for $14.95(giggle and move on). After dodging my request I got forwarded to an 'Account Specialist'.
Who offered a reduced rate 18.9%, $200 CLI, $10 statement credit, and waived the $8.50 AF payment.

Well, that makes it easier to cancel next month without having to pay them anything I guess. Lol, oh well 1 more month towards the AOAA.

They'll do anything to try to get you to take the card out of the drawer. Mine gets to sit on my desk for 3 weeks with a post it stuck to it.

Sorry, had to vent.

I would have just canceled right then and there, why put off the inevitable and bother having to call them again next month, the less time spent speaking to them the better.

You have to be firm with them. Just be very polite and say no thanks I wish to cancel my card. They do this to everyone. Why waste another phone call for a card that's not worth it.? Next time you call to cancel it'll be the same thing. They'll offer you something so you can stay with them.
