Re: Gunning for Amex today

I would if I could, USAA makes you open a 2 year CD to secure it.

Re: Gunning for Amex today

I dont think it will hurt my AAOA until it falls off in 10 years or so. By then my other cards will have aged enough to offset any type of hit. Its only been open for a year as of this month.

What about UTL then?

But I guess it doesn't matter since you can't close it yet anyway.

Re: Gunning for Amex today

The 500.00 should barely affect my utilization, right now my UTL is 13%(didnt make a payment before the staement cut on my USAA Visa card, normally its about 3%). There should be no real negative to closing it. I guess im not in a big hurry to do so since im collecting interest on the CD anyways and building more of a relationship with USAA.
