I think you may be right. I also would assume that the high utiliziation on a dept store card isnt really viewed as weighty as high utilization on a generic credit card. Plus a lot of spend at a place like sears 6 months after buying a house is pretty easy to figure out that its stuff for the house.

I'm kinda surprised.
My experian report shows 1 6-year old collection, 1 30-day late payment, and utilization on 2 store cards of about 90%, on my 9 month old discover of 50%.
But I have a bank account, retirement accounts, and income that is over $100K.
Approved for BCP with CL of $10K.
