Re: HSBC Best Buy MC

Congrats on the great limit! I'm confused though, you applied for the same card you already have but were offered the platinum version? Or is/was there some other BBRZ MC besides the HSBC one?

Re: HSBC Best Buy MC

No it's the same card I already had just a different tier.

HSBC Best Buy Mastercards have a few different options

Platinum - no AF and best rates

Gold - no AF and semi-high rates

Gold - AF and higher rates

Secured - AF and deposit required

I originally had the Gold card with an annual fee and wanted to get rid of it so I had to re-apply.

I was approved for the Platinum with no annual fee

Re: HSBC Best Buy MC

Well I did the same thing as mainemedic and I got approved for the platinum as well I have had the the gold w/79 AF and high apr for 2 years so I called and got transferred to a retention specialist and pushed the issue I too had no luck with combining but she said how about I cut the AF in half and I said why would I want to do that when I have a platinum now I kept push the issue and then she offered to waive the entire fee and you keep the card  I said deal I can live with that for now APR don't matter always PIF. If you keep working away at them you can get your fee waived. just sucks you have to call once a year to do so but it is worth saving $79.00
