HSBC CLI - Breaking the bank!!!

Whew..  I need a drink!

I looked at my statement from HSBC today.  It started to irk me that they'd stopped giving me CLI.  I've been stuck at 4.6k for around 18 months.  I read through the forums to find out if was a hard or soft inq for a CLI.  Soft seemed to be the consensus.

I hit the love button and FINALLY made it past 5k (highest TL)-- to 6k!  It was an instant approval.

YIPPIE!  I feel live I've graduated!  And if Cap1 ever asks, why YES, I have a CC w/ a limit over 5k!

Dollar drafts on me for the next 30 seconds!

I'm not sure how 'prime' it is, but.... I started at 1.5k in 2003.  At the time my other cards were Target 200 CL, Macys 100CL and Providian 250CL.  I felt like I hit the lottery with this HSBC card at the time.  It's a UnionPlusCard w/ a horrible int rate.  (Still at 19.99% - that's my next battle.)

I think my CLIs went something like..  1500, 2400, 3400, 4600 to 6000 today.

I'm thinking I should have asked for more.  Pbbblt on me!  Perhaps they'll see that I deserve it on their own.  I mean my last 3 payments look something like 1k, 2.5k and 4k.  They SHOULD love me!

Re: HSBC CLI - Breaking the bank!!!

Well just look at you! Getting that cli, and those new Amex and Discover cards!!! WTG!

Looks like you've reached a new plateau! I sense you being placed in a new scoring bucket soon. Don't be shocked if your FICO scores drop because of it though. You've graduated! Smiley Happy

LOL thanks.  A new bucket is coming for sure.  I'll hit 18 years of history in a couple of months.  I just need everything to be clean for September!
