HSBC Combined Card Reporting

Does anyone one know how combined cards report to the cra's?
I combined 2 discovers and the rep said she would close the second card and transfer everything over the the existing card...

For me, the one account reported closed, pays as agreed
The new card reported open, pays as agrees... same open date reports.. the only difference is the CL is higher.
