HSBC Weekend Card - Anyone Familiar w/It

I know many of you dislike HSBC. They actually have been pretty good to me so I cant complain. I currently have a regular old credit rebuilding HSBC Platinum card. I noticed the weekend card when I went to pay my bill. It has the following benefits:

Now you can earn twice the points when you use your card the most! Earn 2% cash back on Saturday and Sunday, and 1% cash back every other day of the week with the HSBC Weekend Card. Pay no annual fee, and get as low as 8.99% APR on card purchases.

Not very familiar with reward cards and product changes so I have a few questions. Has anyone asked for a product change with HSBC (not store cards) and been successful? If HSBC does product changes, is this a decent card? Is it a decent card for someone who has no additional rewards cards? Thanks in advance.

Good Luck!, I I dont know many on this board who have a favorable relationship with HSBC. I paid off and cancelled five accounts with them because they either tend to not grow with you or don't care if you leave them. Honestly they dont care about their card holders.  Bu t you will find that in due time. As a rebuilder card they are great...but once you rebuild they are no longer there for you.

It's probably is a decent HSBC offering. HSBC is spotty on PC's. The only way you will know as if you call and ask, possibly more than once. If you call a couple of times and get a "No", ask to speak to a retention specialist. They can do things for you that the regular CSR's cannot. If you can't get this done try to get something else while you're at it. They've given me APR promo's (CSR) and a permanent AF waiver (retention). They almost have me thinking they are decent. Now if they would only convert my darn card to something decent. I haven't even asked for a PC. I don't think they'll do it for the "legacy" card I have.

Keys words "as low".  Or could be as high as 17.99% the last I looked.  And if you do an online app you don't know the actual terms you get until after approved.  Much lower CL than others based on my experience.  I cancelled and the poster who said they don't care was right on.  The response I received from the CSR was he was sorry to hear I was cancelling but respected my decision.

When jammed by them I always ask to speak to a retention specialist and never even mention closing. It is implicit when talking to a retention specialist. They've given me enough now that I wouldn't dream of closing the card. I need my older accounts. Badly, actually.
