HSBC

I've had the HSBC rebuilder card for 9 months now. Never missed a payment. My question is, should I ask for a cli now and if so, is there a back door number I can call ?

Re: HSBC

I have an HSBC card (Orchard) and they are getting dropped within the week literally. Sure, they helped me rebuild my credit but, they've only gone from $300 CL to $400. In that time, my other cards have gone up way more. Heck, Capital One went from $500 to $5500... in one jump. That was pretty sweet.

I do not like paying the Orchard monthly $8 fee and they will be dropped immediately. If I were you I would try for an increase as I know they do that but, somehow they haven't done a thing for me. I guess when I've spoken with them on the phone I can't understand the accent and they are offering me all sorts of credit just in another language. Yeah, that's what it is.

Re: HSBC

I also have two HSBC cards and have been told by them that you have to wait 6 months before you are eligible for your first credit limit increase so you should be eligible. A good backdoor number is 1-800-395-6090. If they ask where you got the number just be sure to tell them that you asked the CSR on the phone for someone who could give you a credit limit increase and they transferred you.

The IVR system at most call centers tells the CSR if a call came through directly or if it was xferred.  Also, the CSR will be required to leave in the account notes that they xferred the call and for what reasons.

Re: HSBC

They are so cheap.  I've been with them since 2003. and they are terrible with clis.  Never had an auto increase in 7 years and their interet rate is like 30%.

I had Orchard also and they did give me some clis but I didn't want to pay fees.
