Had ZYNC for 30 days, should I apply for Gold PR?

The 500 SL is annoying, and I'm wondering if I should try for the Gold PR. I know if approved I will not be eligible for the bonus points. But then again if denied, only soft pull and I will reapply after 6 months when I will be eligible?

What do you guys think?

What does your other stats look like?

-What other CC accounts do you have?

-Baddies?

-INQ's?

30 days seems like too little time to go for another AMEX if your file is thin.

i dont know what your file looks like but depending on how thin your file is i would wait until january.

yes the 500 limit is annoying but you can push payments through your bank.

if you apply now it will only shorten your aaoa.

if you wait till january (only three months)

if you gain it it will add an extra year too divide to get your aaoa instead of just 1 month.

and its only a soft pull if you get denied.

I agree, the backdating alone should make you want to app in January.

$500 PSSL meant you were high risk, one month definitely is not long enough to justify otherwise yet... definitely hold off a few months until at least january to apply to benifit from the backdating anyway.

+100

a year of free backdating for waiting 3 months. 30 days is no where near long enough to get past the hard limit, your scores are pretty low by AMEX standards. After 6 months it may be enough, in the end you may need to cancel the Zync card, and wait a month or two and then AP again to get the limit removed but you could also be eligible for a join budget at that time and plus get backdating goodness.
