Sorry, just wanted to share my happy dance of backdate joy. After being told by the normal AMEX number that I could not backdate my card, i called again (number found in an older 'what do i do' thread here. Asked the nice CSR about it, she looked up my account, and looked up my corporate card account and yes ma'am you will get your new corrected card in 7-14 days. 8 more years of account age for me!
yay! you guys rock!

Wow....you got a backdate from a corporate account? Was the corporate account still active?
I have been an AU on a family members AMEX back from 1984 but it was just shut down since the family member ran into problems. At least she told me about it months ago so I had the card cancelled and removed from my CR so it wouldn't affect me. I also have a corporate card that I've had for 6 years so maybe there is a chance for me in the next few years.

How big is the company you work for? I ask because I also have a corporate green card, but for a massive company. It's in my name, still active, but I've heard most corporate cards won't backdate.

we are a multi-national corporation. and I had also heard that ax would not backdate from a corp card... so ymmv. and of course the answer is always no until you ask.

Congrats! This forum is an amazing resource, for sure. ![]()
Amex stopped backdating AUs, which they call additional cardholders and NOT members... so the member since date wouldn't apply since they don't consider that a member. Maybe as a cardholder on a corp card, you are considered a member. Or maybe they're relaxing their standards. In any case, it's great that your persistence paid off! ![]()
