Re: Hard to get a Discover CLI?

Pretty random..

PC from More to IT, APR reduced and CLI all in one call.

So I was looking around the forums and noticed a lot of talk about PC from the Discover More to the Discover IT so I decided to give it a try.

Gave them a call and was transferred from the 'More' specialist to the 'IT' specialist. She confirmed there would be no change to the account number, confirmed on rewards/benefits and would be available my next billing cycle. No impact on credit report.

While I had her on the phone I decided to ask her about a CLI and APR reduced. She checked the APR first and lowered it from 22.99% to 18.24% right away. I was shocked. And although I have other cards lower, I intend to PIF every month so no worries.

As for the CLI, she said if it gets to the point that it requires a HP, she would let me know. I got this card back in 08/11 at $1500 with no CLI so far (luv button online didn't work). She asked a few financial questions and why I wanted the increase and how much. I asked for $3K (didn't want to go too high and risk a HP or nothing at all). Her first words were congratulations. Completely caught me by suprised. She said no credit pull was required so it was a SP and it approved for $3K.

Re: Hard to get a Discover CLI?

Not sure if you were asking if I had a post about discover history or the other guy.

I got the card in 09, my last year of college. I would PIF several times per month since it had a low CL (500) but it had cash rewards so it was worth the effort.

Got bumped up to 1250 in 2010, it was still my daily use card and I was running 3k+ per month threw it. I then got an BOA airline card and sockdrawered my discover since they wouldnt budge on the CL (soft pulls).

l haven't used it for purchases since 2011, only small BT's to keep it reporting a small balance.

AkAir $50k | Marriott $65k | Local CU $8k
