Some transactions have already posted, but Citi's website won't let me make a payment because the payment amount exceeds the last statement balance ($0). Well, duh, I just got the card.
Anyone had any luck paying this card?
Citi's website is a bit "quirky" from what I've seen.

If it's clunky in that manner a bank bill pay should work though to just push funds to them that way via ACH.
Citi will only allow you to make a payment through their online system towards your statement balance, not your current balance. Yes, that is correct. You have to let a balance report in order to be able to pay using their online system. Therefore, you're forced to either call in a payment or do a direct ACH push/bill pay from you bank if you're paying in the same month you're charging. It's obnoxious. Thus, the reason I haven't used my Citi card for 3 months. No other card I have is like that.

That's what I ended up doing--phoning it in. As soon as the first statement closes, I'll add it as a payee to my bill pay (I need their mailing address).
Nice collection you got there, by the way. That Discover looks pretty spiffy. Is it the plum one?

Thank you! I've never understood why Citi won't let you pay against your current balance in the same month. It's like they want to force you to carry a balance and with the plethora of checks they send me, it's like they seriously desire you to max out their cards. Not happening.
My Discover is the garnet color (it's a deep, dark red). I've considered trying the copper but just haven't gotten around to it. I'm hoping they do chip & pin soon and I'll pick my new color then.
I was able to make a payment because my statement cut on the 9th, about 4-5 days after I received the card.
I'm also able to make a payment on the current balance I have on my card.
FYI: My other "1%" didn't post after I made the payment, so that leads me to believe it'll post sometime after the due date of that statement, which for me is the 7th of the following month.
And to add, that appears to be the Discover "Garnet" design, not the Plum.

Yes, I have no problem paying against my current balance on my Citi cards (though I haven't done the double cash yet). I can pay up to 107.5% of current balance

Same for me...no issue with my Dividends as long as I have some balance, whether statement or current...if there is something, it can be paid.
Citi is always like that with the first month, they won't let you pay more than the statement balance (usually 0 for most people or at least less than total balance) which is pretty lame. Every month after that you can pay your account in full, I do it all the time. Like they said above you can always just push it through your bank the first month though.

Not the case for me. I've never let a balance report and paid inside the same month and I've yet to be able to make one payment online. Maybe your cards are older or different but I'm not making this up. Trust me, I would have paid online if I could. So far, not able to make one payment and the 14th of Sept was my 6 month mark with Citi.
