Has anyone tried using Household Income with NFCU? Does anyone have data on that yet?

Hi,

I already have a card with NFCU. I am leaving my steady job to start a business. I won't have easily provable income for a year or so. My fiancé makes great money that is easily provable and we have always shared our income naturally. I wanted to make sure I was still in position for CLI's with NFCU this year so i must update my income. We decided to use HHI if they will allow me this year.

Does anyone have any data points on HHI with NFCU?

Thank You!

Read the app and T&C in detail. Is it asking for personal or household income? I never had any accounts with nfcu so I dont know.

Do you both file joint taxes?

Do you live in a community state?

I am not applying as i already have had it for a year so I don't have access to the app (I guess I could just stop short of submitting and maybe still see the agreement)

My wife has used our household income with NFCU b/c she is a stay-at-home mom and it hasn't been an issue. She was given a 5k limit increase on a soft pull last year when she asked for it. We keep a nice sum of money with them in checking too so I'm not sure if that would have any weight with them or not.

Re: Has anyone tried using Household Income with NFCU? Does anyone have data on that yet?

Did they know it was household income for sure? Did they ask for income proof and you provided yours or something like that or did you just put the HH income on the application?

(same question for poster above please)

Thanks Alot!

Re: Has anyone tried using Household Income with NFCU? Does anyone have data on that yet?

Household income is allowed at NFCU on credit cards but not loans. I know this to be 100% accurate. They have absolutely no problem with someone using household income on a credit card application.

They could potentially ask for proof of income but you never know when or why. Just be truthful and you won't have an issue.

Again, I want to reiterate, household income is accepatble. 100% sure.

From a younger guy, without a Fiance or Wife...TECHNICALLY what does Household income MEAN?

I live with my parents, they help with cellphone and car insurance bills, they both work and if i included their income along with mine.....They make 10x what i make...is that legit?

Re: Has anyone tried using Household Income with NFCU? Does anyone have data on that yet?

I think there is a line that mentions ""Funds you have reasonable access to". If you have access to the account to pay your bills then maybe. It would have to be a joint account or an account where you are a signer. I personally don't think so though.
