Help...Macy's Letter

I got a letter today from Macy's denying my application and under factors affecting the decision it says: "Please attach a copy of a current bank statement or W-2 Form for verification purposes." What does this mean? There is no address to send these forms to, just a P.o box in AZ and a 1-800 number at the top of the letter. Has anyone ever heard of this before? What should I do?

I just received my denial letter in the mail today they backlist for a Marshall Fields account they bought out a few years ago. Now that i no on on there list i will never apply for a Macy's card again such a waste of a inquiry.

I did but they are closed and so I wanted to know if anyone else had dealt with this.

Sounds like they wanna verify your identity.

Back when I applied for Macy's, they needed to verify my identity.. and after calling in and answering a few questions related to previous addresses and phone numbers, they approved me.

Macy's is worth the extra effort, imo. Today I received a $300 CLI increase from them. Follow their rules and they will treat you well.
