Help Removing Unused Card from Credit Report

So using the SCT I obtained a Victoria's Secret Card. $350 is by far my smallest account. But now that my student loans have finished rehabbing and the new scores are coming in I want to apply for a Chase Card. With the 5/24 rule I would be denied since the VC would have been my 6th. I have never used the card and it is only 1 month old. Is it possible to cancel the card and have the TL removed? I know positive accounts tend to linger for 10 years. But being so early Im hoping someone has some knowledge  that could help me.

Lenders are obligated by law to remove/correct accounts from reports only when it is reported incorrectly. You might want to contact them and explain your situation but what they do is at their discretion.

Re: Help Removing Unused Card from Credit Report

You would have to attempt a GW removal of the TL once you closed it.   It's not unheard of, but it's not typically done.
